Accessible, witty, original and brilliantly imagined JONATHAN EDWARDS


I write fiction, poetry, scripts and journalism. My novella Two kinds of silence won the Somerset Maugham Prize, my poetry has been longlisted for the National Poetry Competition and my journalism recently won a Wales Media Award. I’m a Hay Festival Writer at Work and my story collection Doppelgangers and performance poetry Loud music makes you drive faster are published by Parthian.
 
2020: I'm currently longlisted for the Little Wander Radio Play Award in Paris, and highly commended in the New Welsh Review Rheidol Prize for my novella 'The Confidence of Water'. I was also highly commended in 2019 for a long story, 'The Devil Next Door'.

I host and perform regularly (when the world is behaving normally) and I also mentor. Follow the tabs on the left for more.
